PRICE & ACQUISITION SCOPE
Laser displacement sensor price: compare the complete scope.
Use your two USD budgets. Model prices and included equipment require a written configuration quote.
Compare my two budgets ↓TWO QUOTES / ONE INSTALLATION / USD
Compare two installation budgets.
USD extended amounts for the same quantity. Missing costs stay unknown.
Option A: known subtotal — incomplete
No amounts entered8 categories to confirm.
Option B: known subtotal — incomplete
No amounts entered8 categories to confirm.
B minus A: Withheld until both options are complete and the common comparison basis is checked.
User-entered acquisition arithmetic only. Financial completeness does not qualify a sensor or validate a quotation. No lifetime TCO, ROI or market price is inferred.
The worksheet is initializing. The static scope tables below support manual comparison and email enquiry.
A lower head price can leave an incomplete measurement channel.
Engineering needs a usable result from the target to the machine; procurement needs an itemized supply scope. Compare the complete sensing and acquisition path before treating one optical head as a finished channel.
Keep the same quantity and performance requirement on both sides. Confirm integration and qualification costs explicitly. A known subtotal with missing lines is still incomplete, and an entered price never proves the sensor can make the required measurement.
The worksheet uses integer cents and adds the extended amounts you enter. Included categories add no second charge; unknown categories prevent a difference. It does not supply model prices or convert currencies.
HARDWARE / INSTALLATION REFERENCE
Count the head, acquisition unit and installation hardware.
Use an itemized scope for both quotations. These views identify hardware categories; they do not establish included equipment or prices.

Representative housing views. Confirm the exact model, dimensions and supply scope. Housing color does not identify laser wavelength.
A point head, thickness pair and profile channel need different bills of material.
| Measurement scope | Optical and control items to identify | Integration or test questions |
|---|---|---|
| Single-point displacement | Proposed head; integrated or separate controller; required output variant | Near/far positions, target finish, usable rate and invalid-data handling |
| Dual-head total thickness | Two matched heads; synchronization/calculator; stable calibrated frame | Head alignment, frame drift, timing, outer surfaces and system uncertainty |
| 2D line profile | Scanner, controller/processing where required, SDK/license and acquisition host | X/Z field, profile rate, motion registration and evaluated output vs raw data |
| Long-range distance | Distance head, approved target/reflector where needed and interface option | Full travel path, return target, update timing and environment |
Make every included, optional and excluded line explicit.
| Quote line | Ask the supplier to identify | Worksheet treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Controller / gateway | Exact included part, channel count and supported protocol | Enter its cost, or mark included in the priced package |
| Cable / protection | Connector assignment, length, flexibility, purge/cooling scope | Do not assume an accessory fits another family |
| Software / device files | Required license, description files, revisions and engineering service | Include an acquisition license charge once; record recurring costs separately |
| Calibration / compliance | Exact model/unit, available report, scope and applicable documents | Include additional service charges; a worksheet selection is not a certificate |
Check geometry and evidence before marking two scopes comparable.
| Common basis | Record for both options | Reason to pause the comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Installation and quantity | Same number of heads, channels and complete stations | Unit price compared with a system/order total |
| Target and geometry | Material/finish, stand-off/span or aperture, access and motion | A nominal range does not cover the actual target |
| Performance and integration | Required uncertainty, fresh-data timing and PLC/PC interface | Resolution or sampling headline substituted for application performance |
| Acceptance and supply | Agreed reference test, included items, revision and exclusions | A cheaper subtotal omits required work or documentation |
Architecture changes the scope; it does not establish a universal price ranking.
Keyence’s IL model directory separates amplifier, cable and optional-part categories. Micro-Epsilon’s optoNCDT 1420 page describes integrated electronics. Dimetix’s D-Series comparison distinguishes optional and external interfaces. These examples show why the exact order code and output path belong in a quote review.
Ask which components are included for the actual channel and how it connects to your PLC or acquisition system. Integrated electronics can reduce separate hardware in some arrangements; the required network, cabling and commissioning still depend on the configuration. No one architecture is assumed to be cheaper or technically equivalent.
Three arithmetic examples show why unknown costs matter.
All figures below are invented teaching inputs in USD for one installation. They are not LDS or competitor prices, customer cases or expected savings.
| Example | Option A inputs | Option B inputs | Arithmetic outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hypothetical pair | A: optical package 1,000 + installation 100 = 1,100 | B: optical package 900 + installation 250 = 1,150 | With all other rows explicitly not required and common basis marked: B − A = +50 USD |
| Missing freight | A: known 1,100; freight To confirm | B: complete entered 1,150 | A is incomplete; difference withheld, even if its known subtotal is lower |
| Bundle inclusion | A: package 1,200; controller included; remaining rows not required | B: package 1,200; remaining rows not required | Both entered totals are 1,200; the included controller is not counted again |
Keep acquisition cost separate from lifecycle and delivery assumptions.
The worksheet covers only the one-time acquisition charges entered. Recurring licenses, maintenance, operating costs, replacement, production loss and yield are separate decisions needing a defined time horizon and evidence. A lower acquisition difference does not establish return on investment.
Use the same destination, delivery term and tax treatment in both scopes. Identify packing, freight, import charges and any locally recoverable taxes explicitly with the responsible parties. No tax rate, currency conversion or delivery responsibility is inferred here.
Ask for quote validity, manufacturing lead time and the boundary between dispatch, transit and destination processing. Trial handling, sample return, costs and timing need agreement. An enquiry or worksheet attachment does not reserve stock or promise a dispatch date.

Price and scope
What is the price of an LDS laser displacement sensor?
A binding price requires the proposed model, quantity, optical geometry, target, performance, interface and supply scope. This page is a worksheet for your own amounts, not a released price list. Request a written configuration quote and identify included hardware and documents.
Does a built-in controller remove every extra cost?
No. A built-in controller can change the hardware architecture, but the required network connection, master or acquisition channel, cable, mounting, protection and commissioning still need review. Confirm the exact model and included interfaces rather than assuming every output works together.
Are controller, cable and calibration prices already filled in?
No. Every category begins To confirm. Use a current written quote or your own estimate, and distinguish a separately entered amount from a cost included elsewhere. The tool neither fetches supplier prices nor assigns a generic competitor premium.
How should I enter a quote for two thickness heads?
Enter the extended optical-hardware cost for the complete quantity in your installation. Add the synchronized controller, stable frame, cabling and any separate calibration or commissioning charges in their categories. If a bundle includes them, place its total once and mark the other included categories accordingly.
Worksheet arithmetic
Does To confirm count as zero?
It adds nothing to the known subtotal but prevents a complete total or difference. The result states the number of unresolved categories. This is a missing cost, not a zero-cost assumption.
What does Included in another priced row mean?
The cost is already represented in an entered package amount in this option. Do not enter it twice. At least one positive priced package row is needed when using this state. The worksheet cannot independently verify the contents of a package; confirm them in the quote.
Can I enter zero or reuse existing hardware?
Yes. An explicit zero amount is distinct from an unknown cost. For reused hardware with no added acquisition charge, use the Not required / reuse state. Confirm compatibility and any engineering or calibration costs separately; reuse does not prove suitability.
What does a negative B minus A mean?
It means the complete entered acquisition total for B is below A. The difference is shown only after all categories are resolved and you mark a common quantity, performance and scope. It is not a claim of brand savings, technical equivalence, lifetime cost or ROI.
Quotation and delivery
Can I mix currencies, unit prices and order totals?
No. This worksheet uses USD extended amounts for the same installation quantity on both sides. Normalize any currency and quantity basis before entering amounts. No exchange rate, currency conversion, tax rate or recoverability is supplied by the tool.
Does an RFQ attachment reserve stock or confirm delivery?
No. Availability, manufacturing lead time, dispatch, transport service, destination handling, delivery term and quote validity require written confirmation. Keep dispatch time separate from transit and import processing.
Can I export the worksheet without sharing contact details?
Yes. Download worksheet text creates a file locally; copying has a selectable-text fallback. Attaching to RFQ puts the worksheet amounts in the next-page link and includes them in email only when the completed request is submitted. Use the local download for confidential budgets.
Is this total cost of ownership or a return-on-investment model?
No. It covers the one-time acquisition categories you enter. Downtime, recurring licenses, service, replacement, operating costs, yield and cash-flow timing need separate evidence and a defined lifecycle model. Do not interpret an acquisition difference as operational savings.
Prepare the drawings, data and acceptance scope.
Laser Sensor PLC Integration Guide
Confirm the ordered hardware, wiring drawing and data semantics together. An M12 connector or an Ethernet port describes only part of the integration.
Open the engineering checklist ↗Laser Sensor Calibration Review
Start with the quantity you need to accept, the conditions under which it is measured and the evidence that belongs to the delivered unit or complete system.
Open the engineering checklist ↗Laser Sensor Safety & Compliance
Prepare one review package for the ordered head, its optical variant and the machine around it. Start with identifiable documents and the access conditions your EHS team needs to assess.
Open the engineering checklist ↗Request an itemized scope for the measurement you need.
Send the exact target, near/far limits or aperture, required uncertainty and usable rate, interface, quantity and destination. Identify the head/controller/cable of any existing system. The review can then confirm a feasible configuration, available drawings and the items needing a formal quotation.
